Happy Lucky Chinese New Year!

2018 Chinese New Year begins Feb. 16, You are a "Lucky Dog" if you were/are born in the year of 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018. The New Year festival or Spring festival is centuries old and associated with several myths and customs. Traditionally, the festival is a time to honor deities and ancestors. The decorations are all celebrated with the colors of red with popular themes and symbols of happiness, good fortune, wealth, and longevity. I have the good fortune to have friends who share traditions of this major holiday in China, as well as neighboring, Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Macau, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
